Investment

Therapy is an investment, so we’ve worked passionately and aggressively to design and protect our vision of a more equitable practice that asks, “How can we help?” We want to make mental healthcare more accessible. As a collective, we shouldn’t have to postpone a service that can protect our mental and/or physical health due to cost—a service that can potentially save a life. If you feel like you can’t afford the full fee for a needed mental health service, let’s have a conversation about how we can help. You can learn more below.

The services below are delivered exclusively online to those residing in California, Florida, and Texas. Psychotherapy is provided by Nastasia Freeman, Licensed Psychotherapist.

Individual Therapy (18+)

$200 | 50 Minutes

$300 | 90 minutes (extended session)

In order to reach your goals, you and the therapist will often need to explore your past. As you take a trip down memory lane, the therapist will look for themes that may now present as barriers to your ability to reach your full potential. You will explore past experiences and any impacts those experiences may have had on how you currently perceive the world and others around you. The therapist will support you as you explore those experiences, work towards healing them, and develop a healthier perspective and understanding of them. The more you know, the more you are able to heal. You will also work on the development of healthy coping strategies so that you can better manage stressors as they present themselves.

Individual Trauma Therapy (18+)

$200 | 50 Minutes

$300 | 90 minutes (extended session)

We assess trauma subjectively, as the response to events differs in the way they’re processed individually. Trauma is one of the most complex experiences to live through. It’s also one of the most challenging experiences for a therapist to treat. Our therapist is an expert in trauma. She has years of training and experience in trauma associated with domestic violence, abuse, gun violence, traumatic death, combat, emotional and psychological abuse, and relationships affected by past trauma. She also knows trauma personally. She has sat on the couch and has personally done the work to heal her own past trauma. Therapy heals. It allows you to move through it and past it. After experiencing a traumatic event, it’s common to feel sadness, fear, shame, and anger. You don’t have to carry those emotions long-term. You can and should resolve those feelings. Trauma can interrupt emotional processing, so those that have experienced trauma often struggle to articulate how they are feeling and even what they are thinking at times. Past trauma can shape and influence current thoughts and behaviors. Often, a person is unaware of the connection between present thoughts/behaviors and past experiences. This is either because they have forgotten the experience in its entirety or minimized the impact of that experience. In therapy you will work to uncover, examine, and heal the trauma you have experienced. Living through trauma is something that can affect you for the rest of your life. Our therapist takes that personally. Just as trauma alters the brain, so does healing.

Relationship Therapy (18+)

$200 | 50 Minutes

$300 | 90 minutes (extended session)

Relationship therapy is focused on resolving relationship stress and interpersonal conflict. Relationship therapy is also called couples therapy, partners counseling, and marriage counseling. We use these terms interchangeably to acknowledge the diverse ways in which we relate and identify within relationships. In the therapist’s work with those that identify as LGBTQ+, she also explores and acknowledges how outside influences from society impact the relationship and/or inform roles and expectations. The therapist utilizes emotionally focused therapy (EFT) & techniques in relationship therapy. This model of treatment helps to improve relationships by rekindling the physical and emotional bond that can get sacrificed to disappointment in a partner and alienation from them— a common dynamic in distressed couples. This approach also helps to improve verbal communication, intimacy, respect, and affection. In addition, it helps to remove barriers to conflict resolution. It also promotes empathy and compassion within a relationship. In relationship therapy, the therapist will also utilize psychodynamic and attachment therapy techniques to examine how past experiences inform and impact the present relationship. Relationship therapy is a safe space to heal and strengthen a relationship.

Notice: Relationship therapy is not recommended nor appropriate when domestic violence is present. If you are dealing with domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline 24/7. Help is available.

Relationship Trauma Therapy (18+)

$200 | 50 Minutes

$300 | 90 minutes (extended session)

Relationship therapy through a trauma-informed lens. It’s relationship therapy with a focus on committed relationships that are affected by interpersonal symptoms associated with past trauma and ptsd. Whether caused by early abandonment, childhood abuse, military combat, or other traumatic experiences, the impact of trauma on committed relationships can be complex and challenging at times. Past trauma can bleed into present relationships, making it difficult to feel secure within a relationship. Trauma can interrupt emotional processing, so those that have experienced trauma often struggle to articulate how they are feeling and even what they are thinking at times. This can cause conflict and miscommunication, and it can make it difficult for well-intended partners to know what kind of support to provide. The therapist helps partners understand triggering events in their current relationships and how to navigate those moments. A trauma-informed couple eases the stressors and communication challenges associated with present-time emotional disturbances influenced by past experiences. With a specialty in attachment & trauma, your treatment is led by evidence based research and techniques, certifications, & experience.

Notice: Relationship trauma therapy is not recommended nor appropriate when domestic violence is present. If you are dealing with domestic violence, please call the national domestic violence hotline 24/7. Help is available.

Reduced Fees

Intentional

Our approach to therapy (and all things) is deeply intentional. We believe that as a collective we can no longer afford to ignore the significant cost of not addressing one of the primary reasons people are unable to access mental health care—financial inaccessibility.

Statistics

In 2023, Loma Linda University Health reported 5,566,000 adults in California have been diagnosed with a mental illness, and 1,562,000 adults in California did not receive needed mental health care because of cost. In 2023, CBS8 reported San Diego jails are the largest mental health provider in the region. That is devastating and unacceptable. These statistics are why we offer a reduced fee for those experiencing financial hardship. We want to help the collective. To fill the gap. To be a part of the solution.

Collaboration

We work collaboratively with our clients throughout their time with us to ensure therapy is and stays accessible. We try to build relationships with our clients without any decision-making power given to external entities (like insurance companies). This is also the primary reason we made the decision to refrain from taking insurance and decided to implement a reduced fee approach for those experiencing financial hardship.

Flexibility

This means that we do have a standard rate, but we also offer a reduced rate for those that qualify.

Consultation

Our reduced fee rate is set by a simple human-to-human conversation that is determined in the initial consultation. We know conversations regarding finances may be uncomfortable for some people, especially those asking for a reduction of fees. Please know, this conversation is one that we encourage because this method is born from our personal values and ethics. Our fee-setting process is an intentional example of how we choose to invest in and represent the collectiveness of humankind.

Individual Circumstance

We offer a reduced fee model for fee structure because we can’t provide effective mental health care without considering the whole person. That includes considering a client’s financial means to access and continue care. We hope to change the way that mental health is delivered. We understand mental health is complex. One of the reasons for the complexity is individual circumstance.

The Whole Person

Providing services to only those that can afford the full service fee doesn’t sit well with us. We knew we couldn’t accept that as our only choice. We believe people aren’t “worth less” when paid less money, and people aren’t “worth more” when they are paid more money. So, when designing Hello Healed®, we paused. We looked through the lens of the whole person. We looked for possible gaps, and then we designed methods to close them. Our design allows for flexibility. Things aren’t still. Sometimes, things change, and we want to be able to support our clients through changes in circumstances.
